KIA CONTINUES DESIGN LED TRANSFORMATION AT NEW YORK AUTO SHOW

Kia introduced three new and fuel-efficient vehicles on April 21 at the 2011 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) as well as announced that Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG) will begin production of the award-winning Optima in the fall. The all-new 2012 Rio sedan made its world debut in New York, while the Rio5 made its North American debut after first appearing in Geneva last month. Kia Motors also introduced the refreshed 2012 Soul, which features stylish updates and new technologies. Each vehicle incorporates Kia's head-turning design, quality and performance combined with outstanding fuel efficiency and value, with the Rio and Rio5 offering class-leading fuel economy of up to 40 mpg (highway) and class- leading 138 horsepower.

Kia Motors also hosted more than 450 guests during a media reception on April 20 to provide a sneak peak at the updated 2012 Soul, which made its official debut the following day. The annual media reception was held at trendy Stage 37, featuring a lively sound lounge by Infinity Premium Audio Systems, a lounge by AutoTrader.com as well as an Xbox-360-Kinect Lounge.

KIA SOUL TV COMMERCIAL NAMED "AUTOMOTIVE AD OF THE YEAR" BY THE NIELSEN COMPANY Kia Motors' music-loving hamsters have struck again - this time the follow-up advertising campaign for the brand's funky Soul, titled "This or That," won the highly coveted "Automotive Ad of the Year" award by The Nielsen Company for the second consecutive year. Together, the popular "This or That" spot and the original "A New Way To Roll" campaign have contributed to significant increases in consumer awareness, perception and consideration of the Kia brand, and led to record sales of the Soul urban passenger vehicle. KIA WINS FIRST GRAND-AM RACE Kia's racing team secured the company's first-ever victory in the third race of the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Season at the Barber 200 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala. Piloted by Michael Galati and Nic Jönsson, the No. 10 Infinity Audio Forte Koup qualified in 16th position and quickly maneuvered through the field and into the top 10 early in the race. the best automotive air filter. A flawless pit stop helped the Koup move up the grid and overtake the leader with 30 minutes remaining in the race, and Jönsson held off several challengers to take Kia's first-ever checkered flag. 2011 KIA OPTIMA NAMED TO THE "WARD'S 10 BEST INTERIORS" LIST The 2011 Optima has been included in the "Ward's 10 Best Interiors" list. The vehicle was praised for its luxurious interior look and feel, along with well-priced packaging options. It was also selected for its complete package of design, quality, convenience, comfort, safety features and overall value.

Ward's editors evaluated a field of 51 vehicles that are either all- new or featured significantly upgraded interiors, ranging from utility vehicles, minivans and small cars to high-end premium sedans. Scores were tallied for each competing vehicle based on materials, ergonomics, safety, the human-machine interface, comfort, fit and finish, overall value and aesthetics, with a final list of 10 winners chosen.

NAMED A "BEST OVERALL VALUE" ON THE MOST FUEL-EFFICIENT VEHICLES LIST BY TRUECAR.COM The 2011 Rio recently was named a "Best Overall Value" on the Most Fuel-Efficient Vehicles list by TrueCar.com. An online authority on new car pricing, trends and forecasts, TrueCar.com selected Rio for its spirited performance as well as a generous list of standard convenience and safety features. The sub- compact sedan was also chosen for its invaluable combination of a low average purchase price and high fuel efficiency - significant as gas prices continue to rise.

To compile the list, TrueCar.com divided the average national purchase price of a vehicle by the average annual cost of fuel for that particular vehicle2. All vehicles included on the list have a TrueCar.com Average Price3 between $13,685 and $17,000 and a combined mpg between 28 and 33, resulting in a fuel cost per year between $1,654 and $1,971. To be considered, all models must currently be on sale with a seating capacity of four or more and an automatic transmission.

KIA'S MOTORSPORTS TEAM VISITS KMMG HARMAN partnered with Kinetic Motorsports to bring the No. 10 and No. 12 Infinity Audio Kia Forte Koups and trailer to KMMG on April 5 to generate excitement for the nearby race at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala. Kia's motorsports team was on-hand to sign autographs for team members, take pictures and answer questions about the second-year motorsports program. HARMAN also displayed a Forte Koup with a custom Infinity Audio sound system and a Sorento with the factory installed Infinity Audio sound system. Team members had the opportunity to win tickets to the Barber 200 race or HARMAN consumer products.

Kia Motors served as a Hole in One sponsor for the 7th Annual Kids Konnected Golf Tournament on April 4 at Dove Canyon Country Club. As part of KMA's sponsorship, a 2011 Optima SX was displayed at hole 7. Kids Konnected was founded on the premise that when a parent gets cancer, the entire family is affected, especially the children. The organization provides complimentary counseling, summer camps, bereavement workshops and cancer education tools for children and teens that have or have lost a parent with cancer.
